ABOUT
THE ARTIST
Dennis RedMoon Darkeem is an accomplished artist and educator who has exhibited and performed across the United States. He is inspired by his Indigenous Yamassee Yat’siminoli and African-American cultural heritage, and incorporates traditional craft customs, storytelling, history, and ancient connections to earth and water into his artwork.
During his 3-week residency at The Arts Center in Orange, Dennis will work with visitors to create a portrait of our community: those who live here, work here, or are just passing through. He will also visit community partners and local schools to create artworks with local youth!

Come celebrate Dennis’ residency with us on Thursday, May 4, 5 - 8pm as part of our monthly First Thursday activities! Free and open to all, the evening will include light refreshments and a performance by the artist.
